Lawn Care Applications

Our 6-step lawn care program consists of regularly scheduled fertilization, weed control, and insect control applications that result in a healthier, lush, green, great looking lawn.

1.  Early Spring (April)

It is important to get your lawn off to a good start. A spring fertilizer is applied to enhance grass green-up and root development for increased turf density. A pre-emergent weed control is applied to prevent crabgrass and grassy weeds.

2.  Late Spring (May)

Grass is actively growing at this time and using nutrients quickly. A balanced slow and fast release fertilizer will maintain color, density, promote root growth and build carbohydrate reserves that will be needed during the summer months. A second pre-emergent weed control is applied to prevent crabgrass and grassy weeds. Broadleaf weeds like dandelions, plantains, and clover are common this time of year and are spot treated.

3.  Mid Summer (Late June/Early July)

The summer months can be very stressul for your lawns. A summer fertilizer is applied to help in heat and drought hardiness, wear tolerance and disease resistance. An insectide controls grubs and chinch bugs, whose damage would otherwise appear later in the season. An optional broadleaf weed control can also applied.

4.  Late Summer (August)

Hard to control summer weeds like crabgrass and nutsedge will be spot controlled as needed. This is the time when lawn damaging insects are a high risk and careful inspection is performed. An optional second insecticide with fertilizer can be applied.

5.  Fall (Late September/Early Oct)

Fall is the best growing time of the year for your lawn. Our fall fertilizer will help restore your lawn from the summer stress, providing the much needed nutrients and micro-nutrients wich will contribute greatly to turf color, density, uniformity and growth rate. An optional weed control application can be applied.

6.  Late Fall (November)

As winter approaches it is important to strengthen your lawn for the upcoming winter months. A winterizing fetilizer will help encourage strong root development without excessive top growth and allows for an early spring green-up with ample fertility for early spring growth.

Choice of 2 Programs:

1.  Economy Lawn Care Program

2.  Standard Lawn Care Program

This program has two additional post emergent broadleaf weed controls in mid summer and early fall, and a second late summer insecticide (grub and chinch bug control). This is highly recommended for lawns with full sun, which are most susceptible to weeds and insect damage.

Insecticide (Grub Control) Application: Grubs are the larvae of various beetles. They feed on the roots of the grass, causing entire sections of the turf to die. In addition, animals such as skunks, raccoons, birds, and moles dig up the turf to feed on these insects.
